Brittany and her husband started Berryville Frozen Yogurt eight years ago. They met in high school, and then moved to South Florida where Brittany and her husband had multiple businesses, and have two daughters who were born there. Their family visited yogurt stores all over the place two times a week. “We loved the concept, and one day my husband suggested that we open a yogurt store, and I said, ‘Are you serious?’ And he said, ‘Yes!’” From that point on, Berryville Frozen Yogurt’s foundation was being formed.
During the process of researching the Frozen Yogurt business, Brittany was going to school to be an elementary education major. While she was still in school, they tried to find a spot in South Florida and found that it was very over-saturated with the same business ideas they wanted to start. They decided to go back to DeLand and bring the concept of Berryville to the town of Deland.
What type of events does Berryville join in?
Downtown DeLand does a homecoming parade every year, a Christmas parade, craft fairs, Halloween masks on Main for all the kids to come and trick or treat, and ice cream walks. Berryville typically hosts events every month. Berryville’s first painting event is coming up, and the store will be set up with tables and easels and the customers will get a cup of ice cream, and then they will paint. Berryville will have an instructor who will paint with them so they can eat their FroYo and paint.
Berryville does a lot of free kid events where kids have fun and parents can purchase frozen yogurt products. The last character event was Maddie the Mermaid, and Berryville made a backdrop so families could take pictures with Maddie, and the children participated in some games. Sometimes, Barry the Bear, (our mascot), comes out to say hello. Berryville’s biggest success was an Elsa and Anna night.
Brittany is big on family interaction, and tries to do a lot of events to engage people in the community in downtown DeLand.
Berryville partners with all the local elementary schools in DeLand and some of the middle schools such as: Woodward Elementary, Blue Lake Elementary, and St. Barnabas Episcopal School, one of their huge sponsors.
Frozen Yogurt Flavors:
